The functions of the Draw Works
The drawworks is not only just a primary hoisting machinery of the drilling hoisting system, but also an essential component part of a rotary drilling rig.
A draw-works may be connected directly to diesel engines using metal chain-like belts. The number of gears could be one, two or three speed combinations.
A draw works could have single drum or double drums.

Its main function is to provide a means of raising and lowering the traveling blocks and all other drilling hoisting equipments, and processing the casing running by maintaining the drilling pressure to drilling the casings into the underneath of the ground.
Draw works is also used in the heavy duty lifting job by using the Cathead, and all other assisted job.
